Microsoft have radically changed their payment structure for Education, offering the chance for schools to group their software license costs into one annual sum.
This overhall of the licensing model has the potential to offer considerable cost savings for many. Rather than the current method of paying for one license per machine, under EES schools pay one annual fee for all Microsoft software. This cost is calculated by counting the number of FTE’s (Full Time Equivalent staff) at your school.
Another bonus is that licenses are far easier to manage. Your school will be issued with one license per product and this can be installed on as many machines as you like.
To summarise, here are the important bits:
- You pay one flat fee per annum for your Microsoft licenses
- The cost depends on how many Full-Time staff you have who use computers (200+ hours pa)
- This covers a range of Microsoft products including Windows 7 and Office 2010
- Includes free upgrades to the latest versions (Software Assurance)
Coretek are an official Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller, so you can leave all of the finer details to us. When purchasing any new licenses, we compare the EES cost against the cost of buying individual licenses, thus allowing the school to make an informed decision.
